   Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

2 lbs ground beef
1 lb mild sausage
1 onion
1 1/2 tbsp salt
1/4 tsp each: tyme. oregano,
and sweet basil
1 egg
1 cup rice
1 cup vinegar
1-2 heads of cabbage

Steam cabbage leaves to soften. Mix meat, onion, seasoning ,eggs and rice together. Spoon beef mixture into softened cabbage leaves and roll tight. Place in cabbage lined pan, cover with vinegar water. Cover with cabbage leaves. Simmer or cook in slow oven for 1 1/2-2 hours on 325-350.  ( They are wonderful)

Ice Box Fruit Cake

Melt together:
1 stick of butter
1 can carnation milk
3/4 bag of mini marshmallows

Add red cherries
green cherries
yellow raisins
1 bag fresh frozen coconut
Walnuts or pecans
1 box graham cracker crumbs

MIx all ingredients together, and mold into the shape you prefer, and sprinkle with coconut!!
( this is my mom's recipe, I always loved this cake.)

Our Favorite Cake

3/4 cup oil

1-3 oz. box instant

1 box yellow cake mix

lemon pudding

3/4 cup water 4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 tablespoon butter flavoring

GLAZE:

1 cup powered sugar

2 1/2 tablespoon flavoring

Juice of one lemon

Combine cake mix, oil, pudding, and water; mix well.

Add eggs and flavoring to cake; mix well.  Grease

tube pan and pour in 1/4 c. nuts, then pour 1/2

batter on top, next sprinkle on sugar mix made of

1/4 c. sugar, 1/2 c. nuts, 2 teaspoon cinnamon, and

Pour in remaining batter. Bake at 300 for 1 hour.

Glaze while cake is warm!!!!!!

Chocolate Sheet Cake

 

 

2 cups sugar

2 cups plain flour

4 tablespoons cocoa

Pinch of salt

**Combine in bowl and set aside**

 

1 cup water

1/2 cup oil

1 stick of butter

** Melt above in pan on low heat, now add to flour mixture!**

 

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon soda

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs (beaten)

** Grease 9x13 inch pan, bake 25 to 35 minutes @ 350

 

Icing

6 tablespoons canned milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

4 tablespoons cocoa

1 box powered sugar

1 cup chopped nuts

1 stick butter

** Melt butter & add other ingredients. Pour over hot cake

when removed from oven!!!  **

Home-Made Kahlua

( From Denver DULMAGE )

4 cups Sugar

2 cups Water

1 fifth Vodka

1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

2 Heaping tablespoons Instant Coffee

*** Mix sugar, water, coffee, and vanilla in a pot, bring to a boil

for 5 minutes, till syrupy. Let cool then add vodka, then

bottle and let stand for 30 days!!! ***
