Poke, mold, explore, have fun

1 cup flour
½ cup water
food coloring or tempera
spoon, cups, bowls
Mix flour, water, coloring or tempera
Stir
Play, explore, mold, pound, etc.
1 cup flour
1 cup water
1 cup salt
1 T. cream of tartar
food coloring, tempera, or dry Jell-O or koolade
Mix and cook on low until ball forms, then knead.
Store in airtight container.
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
1 cup water
2 T. cream of tartar
1 T. cooking oil
Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until it has the consistency of mashed potatoes.
Pour out on waxed paper and knead for a short while. Keep in plastic bag. Food coloring may be added for color.
1 cup salt
2 cups sifted flour
6 tsp. Alum
2 T. salad oil
1 cup water Mix together until smooth. Coloring may be added to the water before mixing. The play dough will stay soft for several weeks if kept in a plastic bag.

few drops of food coloring
Mix well. In a pan heat 2 T. vegetable oil. Add the other ingredients, and cook 3 minutes. Stir constantly. Let the dough cool. Store in plastic wrap in the refrigerator.
2 ¼ cups flour
1 cup salt
1 T. powdered alum
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 ½ cup boiling water
food color
Mix together flour, salt, and powdered alum. Add vegetable oil. Stir in boiling water. Mix or knead until smooth. Add food coloring and knead again. Store in an airtight container.
Kool Aid Dough
2 ½ -3 cups flour
½ cup salt
1 package unsweetened Kool-Aid
1 T. alum
2 cups boiling water
3 T. corn oil
1 cup additional flour
Mix the first six ingredients into a dough. Using some of the additional flour, knead the dough until it reaches the desired consistency. Store the dough in an airtight container.
