
Scalloped Potatoes
Ingredients
5 potatoes, sliced thin
1 C grated cheddar cheese
1 t salt
1/2 t black pepper
1 C canned milk
1 C hot water
3 T all-purpose flour
Preparation:
Make a sauce of:
1 C canned milk
1 C hot water
3 T flour
Add salt and pepper
Cook sauce over low heat until
thickened, stirring constantly.
Peel and slice potatoes; cook in
boiling water until tender.
Place a layer of potatoes in bottom of
a 2 quart baking dish.
Sprinkle a layer of grated cheese over potatoes.
Add a layer of white sauce.
Repeat layers ending with cheese on top.
Bake in preheated 400° oven for 30 minutes.
