1997 Still with the 1974 Camaro

Stayed with the 74' Camaro, reskinned it over the winter. Also went to 10 inch wheels. We won the first half of points and I finished the season in second behind my dad. Not a bad finish for the Thomas Racing Team!. I won 6 features, 5 trophy dashes and 10 heat races. I also won the Memorial Day race.

I bought an older street stock this year. I ended up 5th in points in it. I also bought another street stock and totally redid it for the big $10,000 Street Stock Race in Enid, OK. I did pretty good for my first "big" race. I will get'em next year! See ya on the front straight-away!! Took this car back home to our track and won the Winter Nationals in it. Now it is time to start getting ready for the 98 season!

My only advice to anyone thinking about getting into racing, the best thing you can do is find someone who is racing and go in the pits and if they will let you watch, it is a LOT of work!! To win three points championships it took me a lot of time, I spent more time in the shop than I ever did at home, thus the sticker I had on my car...

"We interrupt this marriage to bring you the racing season."

...so, if you are looking for a lot of fun and you have the time to spare, get into dirt track racing!!
